The Basics of Poker Pragmatic Play Review

Poker

Poker is a card game in which players compete to build the best hand possible. It is one of the most popular card games in the world, and can be played in hundreds of different variations.

When starting a game of poker, the dealer deals each player one card. The card is ranked: spades, hearts, diamonds, clubs (from highest to lowest).

For the first betting interval, each player is dealt one more card face up. They may either check, bet, or fold. Once all the players have checked, bet, or folded, the flop is dealt.

After the flop, each player’s hand is evaluated and the optimum play wager is placed. The optimum strategy is to “play” all hands that are better than Queen, Six or Four and fold all other hands worse than those listed above.

During the second betting interval, each player is again dealt one more card. They are then asked to make another optimum play wager. If the optimum play wager is made, each player must match it to continue playing in the hand.

The betting intervals are then repeated until each player either matches the optimum play wager or folds. After the final betting interval, all remaining players are shown their hands and the player with the best hand wins the pot.
